Technical SEO

I’ve always liked the practical side of SEO — the part where you can actually dig into a website, find what is getting in the way, and fix it.

That’s exactly why I wanted to go deeper into Technical SEO.

This course helped me look at websites from a more technical perspective and understand how search engines interact with a site before rankings even become part of the conversation.

It covered the areas that often stay invisible to users but can make a huge difference to search performance: crawlability, indexing, internal structure, redirects, canonicalization, page speed, mobile usability, structured data, and technical signals that help search engines understand a website correctly.

One thing I especially liked was how much Technical SEO connects different disciplines. It sits somewhere between SEO, development, performance optimization, server behavior, and user experience. A page can have great content, but if search engines cannot crawl it properly, if URLs are handled badly, or if technical issues create duplicate or inaccessible versions of the same content, the potential of that content is limited.

The course also reinforced a mindset I already use in real projects: don’t just look at rankings — look at the system behind them.

That means checking how pages are discovered, whether internal links make sense, how redirects behave, whether important pages are indexable, how fast the site loads, and whether the technical setup supports the content strategy instead of working against it.

For me, this course was useful because it gave more structure to the technical SEO work I already encounter on WordPress websites and helped me understand the reasoning behind many of the fixes I apply in practice.
